Ghost Company: The Dead Ride Patiently

Death claimed the wrong children.

The American Civil War was never meant to be fought by children.

Officially, Ghost Company does not exist. No records. No banners. No graves. Only rumors whispered between campfires of a mounted unit made up of immigrant runaways, orphaned drifters, and broken children recruited from the gutters of America by a shadow organization hiding behind the Union Army.

They ride beneath black-and-red lanterns.

They carry enough revolvers to outfit entire squads.

And wherever they appear, soldiers vanish.

Lucia Belladonna was a street rat from Five Points before the war handed her a cavalry saber and called her useful. Elsa Vogel could shoot the eye from a crow farther than most men could even see. Otto Weiss builds weapons like other boys build clocks. Sofia DeLuca patches wounds with one hand and discusses poison with the other.

Then Ghost Company finds eleven-year-old Russian refugee Elizibeta Petrova stealing army rations with a knife clenched between her teeth.

Instead of turning her in, they hand her a banner.

As the war grows darker and the line between soldier and outlaw disappears, Ghost Company becomes something far more dangerous than a military unit:

A family.

And families are willing to burn the world for each other.
