Untouchable

They called James Ferron untouchable, and after everything he had survived, it was hard to argue otherwise. Every trap, every supernatural attempt, every carefully engineered death had failed the same way something always broke, misfired, or collapsed too late. So, when he stepped into the hollow house that seemed to stretch farther than it should have, lit only by a single flickering bulb swaying on a thin string, he didn't feel fear.
