Anna of Achaea was the daughter of King Physcon and Cleopatra. Her beauty had been told through all of Greece as many had wished to bed her. She was strong of heart, often being called "Ánna i léaina" by her men. Since the fall of the Sasanian Dynasty nearly 6 decades prior, a young general had been rising through the ranks. Many had believed Mark Antony was a great general, one who took pride in his victories and always sought vengeance for his defeats. Anna and Mark knew each other very well from prior encounters, they both served under sister kingdoms and had stood in for their kings for peace accords. Anna hadn't ever liked Mark, he had a sharp tongue and an outdated belief about women. One night the tides of battle change, Mark sets out an army against Annas' in the dead of night as they pass through a neighboring area. He feigns ignorance, claiming the light of the moon distorted their flag and he had been sure it was that of the Geraki. Anna knew better. Her advisor and lifetime friend, Sebastian, warned they should make haste for Achaea. He feared Mark was planning to do something horrible to her and knew that they were safest there. Impenetrable walls overlooked the sea, from their outposts they could see as far out as the city-state of Athens. But Mark had other plans. ---- Please note, this is a fantasy. Though there are remnants of history in it, it does not depict historically accurate information. Total Word Count: 38,929

"Do you remember calling me 'mate?'" he asked softly, pushing her wild curls away from her face. She blushed deeply, but he wouldn't let her look away. "You heard that?" He nodded with a smile. "It was the first thought she ever shared with me." Skylar pursed her lips. "She likes you very much." "What about you?" he teased gently. "How do you feel about me?" She set her jaw and once again managed to look down her nose at him while staring up at him. "Well... well, I'm rather fond of you, Orion." He let out a relieved laugh and pulled her into his chest again. "What a relief. I was worried it was just me." He nuzzled her temple, inhaling deeply, his dragon fully at peace. The words "I love you" were right on the tip of his tongue, but he knew it was too soon for that. He would have to hold them in just a little while longer. "I'm fond of you, too," he whispered in her ear. <><><><><><><><> Skylar lived her life in fear. Fear of exposure, fear of herself, and fear of her future. "There's a saying my people use in times like this" "Like this?... how often do you people get tied up to trees in the forest at midnight?!" I snapped "Do you wanna hear the saying or not?" I sigh "Fine...what is the stupid saying, oh I mean the wise proverb you galshitters use" I roll my eyes I hear him chuckle softly at the other side of the tree "It goes... when you lock your heart, the walls you build become your own prison" I take a deep breath before speaking "HOW THE HELL DOES THAT APPLY HERE?!!?!!" Princess Isadora is the third daughter of the six royal siblings of Aldoria. Her Father the king is growing ill and soon has to step down so her oldest brother, Elias, can take to the throne. With threats of war against neighboring kingdoms, Isadora has been chosen, more like forced to marry Prince Lysander of Galdora, in order for their kingdoms to find peace with each other. Isadora is not your typical kind, caring Snow White of a princess, she's harsh, mean and even cruel. She might look nice but her heart is allergic to love and affection, the very thought of being in love with someone and being a wife to a man is repulsive to her. Lysander on the other hand, has a cold and stoic persona, or so people think. He's actually a very kindhearted person who can't bear the sight of others suffering. But that doesn't mean he's weak, he can be very hotheaded and strict if it comes down to it. Maybe he's too confident, flirty and cocky, but he's still a good person. Sometimes. Both are very stubborn and don't take no for an answer. But now that they don't have a choice but to be wedded for the benefit of their kingdoms, will they be able to open their hearts and give in to their growing attraction for one another, or will the pressures of war get to them first?
