Seventeen-year-old Bronwyn Scott had been homeschooled and bullied ever since her father left when she was eight. Before moving to America, she lived in Russia, where she was watched over by her former babysitter, Natasha Romanoff, and met Yelena Belova. Seeking a fresh start, her mother decided to relocate for work, bringing them to Midtown Manhattan, New York City-right where the Avengers Tower stands.

But upon arrival, they find a city devoid of its classic protectors; the heroes are gone, or perhaps hiding.
