NOTE: I WILL CHANGE THE DESCRIPTION LATER BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE ANY IDEAS FOR THIS YET🫠
You were minding your own business, working through the last of your drink, when the vague prickling feeling of being watched crept up the back of your neck. You glanced around. Then down to the first floor.
And found him immediately.
He didn't look away. Didn't even have the decency to pretend he hadn't been staring. He just - smiled. Calm, unbothered, like getting caught was completely fine with him.
You held his gaze for exactly one second before deciding that was enough of that. You looked away, brought your drink back to your lips, and tried to ignore the mild irritation crawling under your skin.
"What is wrong with him. Is he staring because of yesterday? Does he want to apologize or something?"
Probably not. He hadn't exactly seemed the apologizing type when he bowed his head, said "oops" and sprinted away.
You finished the last of your drink, set the glass down, and stood. Time to go.
Downstairs, Lohen took another unhurried sip of water and glanced sideways at Kaeya.
"That girl. She's not from here, is she?"
Kaeya paused mid-drink. A beat passed. He glanced toward the staircase where you were already making your way down, then back at Lohen with his eyebrow raised just slightly - the particular expression of someone filling in blanks they weren't given.
"Doesn't seem like it," he said smoothly. "Why do you ask?"
"Nothing." Lohen looked back at his glass. "I just like her hairstyle."
Kaeya said nothing. He simply smiled into his drink in that infuriating way of his that meant he believed absolutely none of it.
