The summer had been a blur of iced coffees, late-night talks, and laughter that stitched Leah and Evie together faster than either expected. By the time college started, they were inseparable - roommates, partners-in-chaos, and now birthday twins, their celebrations falling neatly between their back-to-back dates.
Leah hadn't thought much about Evie's older brother. She'd seen him maybe three times in passing - tall, sharp-eyed, the kind of guy who radiated "don't mess with me." She figured he barely knew she existed.
She was wrong.
Because Ethan Sterling had known her from the moment they met. Or rather, from the moment he heard her thoughts.
God, he's intense. And way too good-looking for his own ego.

The bar was alive with neon and noise, Leah and Evie dancing on a table like it was their stage. Twenty years old, drunk on freedom and cheap shots, they were untouchable. Until Ethan showed up.
"Evie. Leah. Get down." His voice cut through the music, low and commanding.
Leah rolled her eyes, sash slipping off her shoulder. Of course he's here to ruin the fun. Typical.
Ethan smirked, because he heard it. And because she had no idea.
