In the rugged and wild world of Berk, Hiccup isn't the only underdog fighting to carve out his place. His best friend, Thrya, daughter of Fyke, the formidable Commander of Berk, stands by his side. But Thrya isn't your typical warrior-in fact, she prefers to avoid the battlefield altogether. Smaller in stature and blessed with a spirit that yearns for peace, she faces a unique challenge: Thrya was born mute and only communicates through the graceful movements of sign language.

Their lives take a thrilling turn when they stumble upon a wounded Night Fury and a Whispering Death-a dragon Hiccup had shot down the night before. Instead of being the ferocious enemies they've been made out to be, the creatures reveal a different side, leaving Hiccup and Thrya stunned and intrigued.
