Inspired by a moment when someone tried to attack my friend, and I stepped in to shut down the hostility. When they snapped, "Like you don't curse at her!" I told them, "She doesn't feel hurt when I do it." And my friend agreed: "That's true."

Humans are deeply diverse, and we rarely realize how thin the line is between a harmless joke and a permanent scar. We all carry completely different expectations of which boundaries should never be touched.

A collection of poems about the exhausting art of color-matching every crowd, the thin line between protective venom and actual malice, and the quiet identity crisis of losing yourself to keep everyone else comfortable. My life in general based on stuff going on around me.
