Gotham had always belonged to monsters.

The old families ruled through fear, corruption, and blood until two new powers began tearing the city apart from the inside.

The Veil controls Gotham through secrets.

Joker controls it through loyalty.

And somewhere between gang wars, underground deals, and carefully constructed lies stands Naomi Xavier. Cold, calculating, and dangerously intelligent, Naomi built the Veil to protect Gotham from itself.

She never planned for Joker. Because unlike everybody else in the city, he sees through her masks immediately.

What begins as mutual fascination slowly spirals into obsession, power games, violence, and a love dangerous enough to unmake them both.

Gotham was already dying before they met. They just gave the city something new to burn for.
