Mia D'Angelo knows exactly why getting involved with Beau Maxwell is a terrible idea. Beau is Briar University's golden-boy quarterback. Funny, charming, and notoriously allergic to girlfriends. Mia has already learned the hard way what happens when you let the wrong person get too close, and she has no interest in repeating history - especially not with a guy like Beau. But after one disastrous first impression, Beau suddenly can't seem to stop thinking about her. And no matter how much Mia tells herself he's annoying, cocky, and absolutely not her type, she somehow keeps running into him anyway. Unfortunately for her, avoiding Beau Maxwell would probably be easier to avoid if he weren't six-foot-three and ridiculously sexy. A simple arrangement with no strings attached is supposed to make things easy enough. Sex, no feelings, and absolutely no complications. Except the more Mia insists it means nothing, the more Beau starts wanting to prove that maybe it does. But Beau doesn't do relationships, and Mia has no interest in one either. Which becomes a problem when neither of them can seem to stay away.

Beau Maxwell is exactly the kind of guy Mia Reyes should stay away from. Too confident. Too charming. And far too used to people falling in love with him. Mia has bigger problems than Briar's popular player. She's trying to focus on college, painting, and a life that's slowly starting to slip out of her control - especially now that her ex-boyfriend refuses to understand the meaning of the word "over." The messages keep coming. The phone calls too. And the fear that was supposed to disappear after the breakup is starting to creep back in. At first, Beau seems like just another chaotic part of campus life - an irritating flirt who always stands a little too close and says things that make it impossible for Mia not to smile. The problem is that Beau Maxwell notices everything. Even the things Mia desperately tries to hide. And the harder she tries to keep her distance, the more Beau starts acting like her safety has suddenly become the most important thing in his life.
