While The body Lasts

For me, the pain of it all is that I know not when it will end. I no longer know my name, my title, my eyes or my kin. Not the ones I started with. Instead, I wake every single day wearing a new yet familiar face to spend with new yet familiar people.

And today is no different.

She wakes up. She doesn't know where. She doesn't know when. But she knows the name they're calling her, the family at the table, the life that is hers to borrow for exactly one day.
She has been doing this forever. She just doesn't remember.
Across centuries and continents, one girl wakes in a different body, a different world, a different woman's life - cotton mills and candlelight, revolution and ruin, ordinary Tuesdays that feel like everything. And somewhere in the crowd, always, is a boy who knows exactly what she is.
