"The world champion goes wide! What a dramatic moment!"

"The Red Bull is on fire! The Red Bull is on fire!"

That was the moment I was certain my heart had stopped beating.

The camera switched to Dad's face, then to Lewis's car - the one that caused the crash - then back to the flames. Fire roared upward, and every sound around the track seemed to disappear.

"He's definitely dead. There's no way he survived that."

And then he climbed out of the car.

My heart slammed painfully back to life.

He was my favorite driver.

But I never would've imagined that only a few weeks later, he would show up on my porch.
