Beyond The Veil

In the world, they're those anointed by God to decrease the influx of evil entities called Exorcist. Many exorcist are given gifts since birth, the ability to heal illnesses, some can even see into the future and some of the truly blessed possess the ability to extract demons from possessed entities.

However, Demons don't take likely to God's chosen and have spent millennia corrupting humans to counteract The Church and their anointed ones in hopes of one day fulfilling the ritual of 'The Reckoning' beginning the end days and calling upon the Four Horseman to signal the end of times.

There's a particular rhythm or ritual that needs to be completed to this to happen. Scattered across the globe, 666 cursed objects contain the 'Key' demons needed to herald the end of times. 600 of them are owned by the Church, 60 are owned by private collection owners and the final six are said to be protected in six holy sights - lost in the new world. Essentially making it impossible to herald the end of times.
