The space between shifts

Lucy has just joined Mid-Wilshire as a new Sargent after transferring from New York. She is married to Marcus Smith and has a son called Chase who is 4 years old. Her husband Marcus is in the Royal Navy in the UK. Chase only gets to see his dad on FaceTime every weekend because time zones are completely different which makes it difficult for them to stay in contact. Lucy lives with her son in a cozy 3 bedroom apartment. What happens when something unexpected causes Chase's Dad to lose contact and leaves Lucy a widow?
