Beneath the severed sky

Years ago, while training some young sirens Zafira dragged a dying Nyxari from the sea after his ship was destroyed and the crew slaughtered.
Wounded and far too arrogant for someone who had only just managed to survive entering a watery grave and laying on the shore he watched her vanish beneath the waves, her parting words stopping him from thanking her at all and to her, he became nothing more than a memory. A pirate captain feared across every kingdom, hunted by fleets and followed by rumours darker than the sea itself. When Zafira crosses paths with him after a group of young sirens are threatened he decides to take her aboard, with a siren in his crew he'd know every crevice of the waters and never be found by those hunting him. Reluctant but wanting no harm to come to the young sirens Zafira agrees, keeping her distance for as long as possible until she discovers a scar that resembles the wound she had given the Nyxari all those years ago. But that was impossible, wasn't it?

As ancient horrors rise from the depths and the world begins to unravel, Zafira and Sevryn are forced into an uneasy alliance across blood-soaked waters. But with kingdoms hunting him, deadly secrets surrounding his missing wings, and something monstrous stirring beneath the ocean, falling in love may prove far more dangerous than the end of the world itself.
