Author's Point of View -
The Space Between Two Glances
I wanted to write a story that feels quiet but unforgettable.
Not a love story built on grand confessions or dramatic promises, but one built on the little things people usually overlook - lingering eye contact, handwritten notes, awkward silences, and the way someone slowly becomes important without you even realizing it.
The Space Between Two Glances is about emotions that are never spoken loudly. It's about the feeling of looking at someone for one extra second and suddenly knowing your world has changed.
Liora and Kael are complete opposites on the surface, yet emotionally they understand each other in ways nobody else can. Liora hides herself in silence, while Kael hides himself behind distance. Their relationship grows not because they try to impress each other, but because they notice each other.
That's the heart of this story: being seen.
The paper airplane represents the beginning of connection - something simple, childish even, yet powerful enough to change two lives. Every note, every glance, every quiet moment between them carries emotions they struggle to put into words.
I also wanted the story to feel warm and alive through the friendships surrounding them. The teasing, late-night conversations, study trips, shared laughter, and chaotic group dynamics are meant to show that love doesn't grow in isolation. Sometimes the people around us become part of our story too.
The title, The Space Between Two Glances, symbolizes the invisible emotions shared between two people before love is confessed: the hesitation, the tension, the comfort, the fear, and the hope hidden in silence.
This story is for people who:
fall in love slowly,
notice small details,
replay moments in their minds,
and believe that sometimes the quietest relationships are the deepest ones.
Because not every story begins with "I love you."
Some begin with a paper airplane.
