The world is ending, nature wants to eat your face, and Peter Forman is currently swinging a... leg? A stick? Let's go with stick. When the Granular Meteor smashed into Earth, it unleashed the RedWind: a sentient, toxic fog that mutated predators into hyper-intelligent monsters and turned plants into flesh-eating nightmares. To make matters worse, the authoritarian corporation Atropa is using the chaos to reshape society. They don't want to destroy humanity, they want to completely control it. Survivors are subjected to brutal, experimental death tests, while group leaders are secretly fitted with behavioral failsafes to ensure absolute obedience to Atropa's leader, Roger Hurse. Peter has managed to survive by hiding a massive secret: he can shapeshift and mimic any superpower he touches. But when he uncovers proof that Atropa is engineering a future where only the perfectly compliant are allowed to live, Peter realizes it's time to get the heck out. Along with a fractured group of friends, Peter plans a suicidal heist to steal a cargo ship and sail straight into a lethal, permanent storm. The plan is flawless. The execution? Pure chaos. Now, Peter is sprinting through a literal war zone of bombs and monsters, hitting anything that moves over the head with a piece of debris. Does he know if he's accidentally beating up his own allies? No. No, he does not. But as the saying goes: the enemy will never know your next move if you don't even know where you're going. Especially if you're holding a leg. Or a stick. Definitely maybe a stick.

It's been almost a hundred years since Earth's civilizations fell, leaving only ruins and memories. Long before the collapse, they began taking humans, but now, everyone knows who they are and they fear them. The few who manage to return from their captivity tell stories of how these creatures treat humans like animals or children, tending to them like pets or slaves. Most survivors live in hidden cities, avoiding the ancient ruined cities at all costs. But not Jace and his crew. As a group of Stray Humans, they've made the decaying cities their home, roaming the forgotten streets, never staying in one place for long, and bringing all their skills to the table. They are a family, working together to make sure those things, Aliens, never take another human as long as they are near. When the aliens of A.C.R. (Animal Care and Rescue) find a new group of humans wandering the ruins of a large city, they think it will be an easy capture. But they soon learn that these particular humans have more willpower than most. They dodge every trap, disappear around every bend, and even manage to take some of the already captured humans with them. The aliens pity these "little creatures"-they just don't want to leave their home, but Earth is falling apart at the seams, and they are determined to take the stubborn little humans to the safety of one of the mother planets. No matter the cost. Warning - This story may have -Self harm -Rape -Abuse -Suicidal thoughts and actions -Violence and gore -Uncomfortable scenes (If this isn't your first alien pet book, you know what I'm talking about)
