Mind Games

Alex has lived with Axel for as long as she can remember - a voice only she can hear, a presence that never leaves, a shadow stitched to her thoughts. He isn't a friend. He isn't imaginary. He's the part of her mind that twists every mistake, every fear, every insecurity into something sharp. And he never stops talking.

At school, Axel's constant commentary gets her labeled as disruptive. At home, her dad barely notices anything is wrong. No one sees Axel. No one hears him. No one understands how loud he is.
