LET THE WORLD BURN

Raina doesn't believe in love.

Not the sweet, storybook kind. To her, love is messy, irrational, and dangerous. She's watched it tear her parents apart and pull them back together again. She's seen the scars it leaves behind.

So when she gets fired for losing her temper at a customer, she figures life can't get much worse.

Then an old man on a train offers her a job.

His son hasn't been the same since his mother died two years ago. He spends his nights playing basketball alone, barely speaks to anyone, and lives like a ghost in his own home.

The job sounds simple: get close to him. Make him smile again. Make him feel loved.

But the deeper Raina gets, the more she realizes she's not just trying to save someone else's broken heart.

She's risking her own.

Because some people are together but not in love.

Others are in love but can never be together.

And Raina is about to discover which one she is-even if it means letting the world burn.
