The world ended over night.

Weeks after a sudden outbreak throws the country into chaos and Ari is forced to survive in a world overrun by infected creatures and collapsing cities. Armed with nothing but a backpack full of research files, her best creation and a secret she refuses to tell anyone, she travels through the ruins searching for something - or someone.

Along the way, she crosses paths with a few college students who have nothing in common except bad luck and a growing inability to stay out of danger. Strangers become allies, allies become family and survival slowly becomes more complicated than simply staying alive.

But while the infected continue to evolve, so do the secrets within the group.

Because some truths are dangerous enough to destroy what little hope humanity has left.
