It's not in Lucan's nature to caution others. So when his best friend, Del, hints at plans to unseat the leading criminal family in their district, he doesn't try to stop him. Growing up in the criminal underworld means Lucan has spent a lifetime obsessively preoccupied with his friends' and family's safety. But Del has spent a similar lifetime chasing the riches he gave up when he moved to this country. And Del's will, Lucan has always felt, is inevitable. He, therefore, sets one rule: I can't be involved.

Instead, Del enlists Kenra, a thrillseeker who's new to the city. She just so happens to also be an expert killer. But what begins as a slow game of unwinding the streets from the sitting family begins to spiral beyond their control. Soon, all three find themselves facing higher stakes than they could've imagined as those closest to them become entangled in the consequences.
