Now she's alone on a broken interstate heading south, chasing Florida-a place she was told would mean safety, family, something still waiting at the end of everything. But every mile takes something from her, and the dead never stop filling the spaces people leave behind.

The only thing still walking beside her is Mayday-a trained K-9 who refuses to leave, even when everything else already has.

Some of them accept her quickly. Some take longer. And some-like Daryl Dixon-don't trust her at all at first.

He watches her. Questions her. Tests her without saying a word.

And Cassidy, for reasons she can't explain, doesn't give up on earning it.

Because in a world like this, survival isn't just about staying alive.

It's about finding people worth staying alive for.

And sometimes, family is the most dangerous thing you can choose.
