When her villiage is destroyed Merlin and his mother takes the young girl In and adopts her. So effectively she is Merlin's adopted sister. Follow her on her adventures. Her magic is also like merlin's only stronger.

She ends staying with a family who is still grieving. Even though she enjoys Hogwarts, everyone seams as though they are keeping secrets from Elyse.
