In May 2026, Michael Jackson remains the greatest entertainer the world has ever known. The release of the new Michael biopic starring his nephew, Jaafar Jackson, has reignited worldwide obsession with the King of Pop, and twenty-two-year-old Aurora Monroe is right in the middle of it. A professional dancer, ballerina, and rising singer inspired by Michael her entire life, Aurora even helped choreograph scenes for the film.
One sleepless night after rehearsing choreography for her upcoming single, Aurora takes two melatonin pills, packs her backpack for the next day, and collapses into bed.
But she doesn't wake up at home.
Disoriented and terrified, Aurora finds herself alone in a sunlit park with no idea how she got there. Moments later, she nearly gets hit by a black Mercedes speeding down the street.
The driver slams on the brakes.
And when the door opens, Aurora comes face to face with the one person she never expected to meet.
Michael Jackson.
Not the legend the world worships in 2026-but a young Michael in the early 1980s, fresh off the success of Off the Wall and secretly struggling with writer's block on a strange new song called Starlight.
Michael is immediately captivated by the mysterious girl who appeared out of nowhere with futuristic clothes, strange technology, and eyes that seem to know far too much about him.
At first, Aurora wants to find a way home without changing history. But the closer she grows to Michael, the harder it becomes to stay distant-especially when she already knows the fame, heartbreak, and loneliness waiting for him in the future.
Because how do you love someone when you already know how their story ends?
