I've never written anything before, but this is an excerpt from the beginning of a fantasy story I am writing. It covers mature themes, graphic imagery, and doesn't shy away from realism, but I don't intend for it to be particularly sexual or gory in nature if it doesn't serve the story.
Feel free to give me your criticisms. I am a growing author and want to use this story to share what I have learned with the world.
