What happens when a Viltrumite... was already on Earth, having conquered it for millennia, yet no one knew he was there? The reason...
He's too quick to be seen. Too powerful to be felt. Everywhere he goes, destruction and death was seen as natural disasters and events caused by the Earth itself. As if he is Mother Nature's greatest weapon... except he wasn't a weapon. Just a being who took care of his own property to remove disturbances.
The Disaster of 1954 was a clear sign as not just the United States, but Russia, Korea, Vietnam, and many other countries learned a harsh lesson in using property they do not own for their wars.
What caused the Viltrumite to commit a series of death and destruction on all these countries and their people?
Because they awoke him from his nap... simple as that.
