For thousands of years, they have found each other just in time to lose everything.

In ancient Celtic Europe, Seren and Emrys grow from reckless childhood friends into inseparable young warriors bound by a handmade braid and a promise to never leave one another behind. But when famine strikes their tribe, the Druids choose Seren to become the Sacred King - a holy sacrifice meant to die for the land.

As religion, ritual, and fear close around them, Emrys desperately searches for a way to save the boy he loves before the gods claim him forever.

But this is not the first lifetime they have died together.

And somewhere far in the future, one of them will finally survive long enough to break the cycle.
