Smoke Between the Walls

After another failed job interview and one too many unpaid bills, Wu Suowei has no choice but to move into a cheap apartment on the edge of the city. The place is old, the neighbors are loud, and his new roommate is... unsettling.

Chi Cheng is covered in tattoos, smokes like he's trying to disappear inside the haze, and barely speaks. Some nights he's cold and distant. Other nights he talks too fast, laughs too loudly, and doesn't sleep at all. Bruises sometimes appear on his knuckles. Panic flashes in his eyes whenever someone raises their voice.

Wu Suowei quickly realizes Chi Cheng is hiding scars much deeper than the ones inked into his skin.

What begins as an uncomfortable living arrangement slowly turns into late-night conversations, shared silence, and two broken people learning that being understood can feel terrifying... and healing at the same time.
