WE NEVER MEANT TO PRETEND

She never liked him.
He never cared about anyone.
That was supposed to be the truth.
Until a school project forces them into something neither of them can escape: pretending to be a couple.
At first, it's simple. Just a lie they agree on.
Fake smiles in hallways.
Fake closeness in front of people who are always watching.
Fake moments that mean nothing... at least that's what they say.
But the problem with pretending is dangerous:
The more convincing the lie becomes...
the harder it is to remember what was real.
And in a school full of rumors, jealousy, and attention that never stops-
one look is enough to start a fire.
One touch is enough to confuse everything.
And one mistake... is enough to ruin them both.
Because someone is going to stop pretending first.
And when they do-
there might be nothing fake left to protect them.
