As a last resort Vezaias starts his first day at a new public school in the 'alternative program'. There he meets Lux, a troubled, bullied, loner, who is immediately suspicious of Vezaias trying to befriend him. Vezaias is determined to get Lux to trust him. Before long Vezaias captures Lux's attention and soon they become inseparable. Things begin to spiral out of control because of Vezaias's continued abuse at home, his meddlesome drug addicted younger brother Ava, and Lux's ever worsening mental health situation. Vezaias and Lux end up deep in an inescapable environment filled with drug and alcohol use, violence, crime and psychosis. As a plot for murder and suicide begins to unfold will Vezaias be able to stop mass murder from happening?
