Alone

Alone feels like
a hallway with no ending,
footsteps echoing back
like they belong to someone else.

It's the glow of a phone screen
that never lights up,
the quiet hum of midnight
wrapping around tired walls.

I speak sometimes
just to hear a voice,
just to prove
I still exist in this silence.

The stars stay distant,
the moon never answers,
and even the wind
passes through me like a stranger.

But somehow,
in the middle of all this emptiness,
my heart still beats softly -
a small reminder
that even lonely things survive.
