Years after being together Maria and Juan have finally built the life they fought for - a quiet home, a loving marriage, and three children who fill their days with laughter. Xenia Ophelia, clever and watchful. Aramias Warner, fierce and stubborn. Kyler Isaac, gentle and endlessly curious. For a while, peace feels real. Until Maria begins hearing the songs. Low, mournful melodies drift through the night from the direction of the river. Songs she remembers from years ago. Songs no living person should know. At first, she hides the truth from her family, terrified the darkness she escaped has returned. Then the children begin singing the melodies too. As whispers of old drownings spread through town and strange figures are seen standing along the riverbanks after dark, Maria realizes the haunting never truly ended. Something ancient moves beneath the waters of the Rio Grande, calling to her children one by one. And no matter how tightly she holds them, the river always takes what it wants. The Drowning Hymn is a haunting tale of inherited grief, family devotion, and the terrible songs passed from one generation to the next - where love is powerful, but fate may be stronger.

| teacher x student | wxw | slow burn | When 19-year-old Lena James enters English Literature class, she expects nothing special. Instead, she meets Ms. Sinclair her cold, sharp-tongued British literature teacher. Elegant, cutting, and unbearably superior. From the very first lesson, the 34-year-old woman seems to take pleasure in dismantling Lena's every opinion with cruel precision. Lena hates her. She hates the condescending red marks on her essays, the raised eyebrow that makes her feel small, and the way Ms. Sinclair lingers in her thoughts long after class ends. But hate this intense has a way of twisting into something far more dangerous. With a strict 15-year age gap and an unbreakable teacher-student boundary, their slow-burning tension threatens to break every rule both in literature and in real life. Some lessons aren't taught kindly. And some hatreds taste too much like desire. "Ms. Sinclair's Secret"
