Her family are not as rich, but they have a very lovely benefactor in Miss Rose a women who never married nor had any children. The love of her life ran off with a different women on their wedding day.

Her family wanting more of a standing in society, have been looking forward to Emma turning 16, ever since she was born.

Everything changes when she accidentally runs into a man from a different land, on her way to the dress makers shop. Never thinking that she would meet him again, but fate sometimes comes when you least expect it. She meets him again at the ball.
