I looked at him through tear-filled eyes as my baby boy cried loudly in my lap. I was sitting on the bed while he remained occupied with his laptop. He sat directly opposite me on a chair placed in the corner of the room.
"Ise chup karao," he shouted, making me flinch.
"W-Woh chup nahi ho raha," I stammered, gently rocking the baby in my arms.
"Toh chup karao!" he yelled again as he grabbed his laptop.
With a sharp movement, he pulled open the door and stormed out of the room.
My eyes remained fixed on the door. Despite everything, a small part of me hoped he would return and ask why our son was crying so much.
But he didn't.
Swallowing the lump in my throat, I pulled my baby closer and covered him with my pallu. Then I began feeding him.
Gradually, his cries faded away. His tiny stomach filled with milk, and his heavy, uneven breaths slowly settled into a peaceful rhythm.
Looking down at his innocent face, I gently wiped away the tears lingering in my eyes..
