Infernia (Midnight Realms)

Alexandria and Isabelle had the kind of teenage love affair for theatre and fairy tales. All the magic and coincidence and political power. Unfortunately for them, that fairytale was Romeo and Juliet. Unfortunately for the story, they were both raised as first born daughters, who believed in duty over love.

And so that love was kept hidden, and eventually waned and eventually ended. Now well into their twenties, the tragedy of their lives has only increased. Dead parents and squabbles for power and suffocated feelings.

Isabelle, now Akeal, has gotten used to the numbness. As the King of Infernia there isn't really enough time between challenges for the throne and tampering the cult that's been killing women to really be thinking about his own feelings.

Alexandria is the exact opposite. She is overwhelmed by feelings and regret. After a bought of crippling depression, Alexandria's younger sister has successfully convinced her that she NEEDS to move to Infernia. Go back to school. Do something for herself outside of the family business.

She does, convinced that Akeal has moved on from their childish little relationship, and all she has to do is convince him that she has no intentions of coming for his throne. She wants to go to her dead mother's alma mater, that's all.

But there is no such thing as 'moving on' from fate. And the more Alexandria tries to make herself invisible, the more Akeal can't look away.

True love prevails. Whether or not they loved each other was never the question. How many people are going to die because of that love? Is something else altogether.
