Of Storms and Silence

Six years into a marriage that once promised her everything, Niyati has learned the loveliest of homes could still be a terribly lonely place.

Her husband has never been cruel. Never unfaithful. Never unkind.

Perhaps that is what makes it difficult to leave him. For there are marriages broken by betrayal, and then some simply fall apart.

She has spent years waiting for something between them to change. At last, she decides it must. She asks her husband for a divorce.

He says no.

Not because he knows how to mend their marriage. Not because he suddenly becomes the husband she once dreamt of. But because, for the first time, he is forced to confront the possibility that the only person who has ever chosen to stay may finally choose to leave.
