Beau Maxwell's worst mistake in life had been letting Dean Di Laurentis choose one of his electives as part of a bet. Whether her crusade was public or not -it absolutely was not- didn't matter, because she needed to prove her own talent to herself. Why would she, if she was no romance author? Well, the thing was... Adelaide Vale, just another student in Briar, was secretly global romance writer phenomenon Vivian Voss.

In a small stage with few actors, desks and chairs are often few. Exactly ten desks for ten students meant that seating in pairs was inevitable. Adelaide and Beau end up paired together, and both plan to ignore the other. That was, of course, until the professor announced they would work in every assignment with whoever they were sat.
