Before the Telling

Before they were gods, before they were the Tuatha Dé Danann, they were no one. Beings without memory or name, carrying gifts they could not explain and an instinct for love the world refused to return.

Rejected by every community they tried to help, they built a home on an island at the edge of everything. They lost it to violence. They were separated from half their people in the chaos of flight and spent years in exile learning what they were capable of - slowly, imperfectly, through discipline rather than revelation.

When they returned to reclaim their home, they found their lost kin already there. They also found an enemy wearing the face of a friend, and a design so patient and so precise that it would drive them to war against their own before anyone could prove it existed.

The truth - about who they are, what was taken from them, and why - has been sealed since before the world was made.
