Tiny hands reached out for the colorful wrappers as quiet laughter began to fill the street, growing a little louder with each passing minute.
Levi wasn't smiling. But he also wasn't telling them to leave. For him, that was basically kindness.
A girl around six years old smiled politely after receiving her candy.
"Thank you, mister."
Levi clicked his tongue softly. "Yeah."
The line gradually grew shorter. Finally. He was already planning his escape from this entire situation when another person suddenly appeared in front of him. Levi grabbed a candy automatically without looking up.
Then he paused.
...Too tall.
His eyes slowly lifted. A white dress- technically a white frock -its soft fabric swaying lightly in the breeze. A bright smile. Big eyes. Definitely not a child.
You stood there with both hands behind your back, as if you belonged in the line anyway.
Levi stared at you for a few silent seconds.
"...The hell are you doing?"
Your smile widened. "Getting candy."
"You're not a kid."
"And yet I still enjoy sugar. Crazy world."
