A new girl had just started attending Melody's primary school. Will this new girl change her innocent soul and show her a part of the cruel,terrible world we live in?

Even some of the women teachers are in love with him, but he chooses to ignore them because he's happily married and has four children who also attend the school. Everyone thinks he has the most perfect family in town. What no one knows is that Melody has been in love with him for years, even though he's more than twice her age and the father of her closest friend in the world. She has never dreamed he would ever see her as a woman and accepts that she will be never be anything else to him but the best friend of his son. At least that's what she thinks. But Mr. Davenport has a secret, too. He has watched Melody grow up into a beautiful young woman over the years and what he is feeling for her now is decidedly not paternal...

This story is about a 16 year old girl named Melody Swift. Ever since her mother died, her so-called "father" started abusing her. Kids at school are cruel, they bully her brutally just because she's different. She simply waits for everything to get better, after all what's the point in trying when the world will do whatever they can to drag you down. Her only escape from this twisted reality is a creature named Shadow. A terrifying creature that is somehow more humane than the so-called humans around her. Shadow could easily take all her problems away, but Melody refuses to take the easy way out. That is, until she just couldn't take it anymore, she takes Shadow's offer and soon her life got better. Her bullies started disappearing, showing up dead in the woods. Their bodies badly mutilated, almost unrecognizable. Life at school started getting better, she finally had human friends and even a boyfriend. Her "father" was found dead at her house. The torture had finally ended.
