The Blood of a Quartz

This story follows an eighteen-year-old Tess who despises the dystopian society's standards and rules she's been born into. One of the regulations in said society is that an annual Determining Ceremony is held in which all eligible fairies are Determined. They are either Claimed (allowed to stay), Exiled (forced to leave), or Recruited (obligated to join the Queen's army), Tess hates every option for different reasons. So when she discovers she is the wielder of the rarest and most volatile power in the history of Malinia, she trains with one of the oldest water-wielders, mastering her power, challenging the system, and hunting down the dark truths to take the system down.
