Kaya doesn't recall her parents' face. All she remembers is the vivid smell of the hospital sanitizer, the sharp smell almost burning her nostrils, the way the white light flickered ever so faintly whenever the moths surrounded it. That hospital, the only hospital in the Leaf village, the one that had 'revived her'. The memory of the nurses talking about how much of a miracle it was for her to be alive. How she 'would have died if those villagers hadn't found her at the border.

She remembered those moments. Yet held no affection for them nor the people she met during those days.

All she recalled was the confusion, the pain and a numbing feeling that followed. A skin crawling sensation that had rendered her mute for a few months. However, and maybe out of luck, it was that short period of her childhood that then fueled what she could only describe as revulsion. A feeling that carved itself a nest into her bones, becoming the concept of her derision for the shinobis responsible for the downfall of her people.
