The atelier has become somewhat louder in your absence.

I've recently taken on another apprentice.

Though I will say this time it was not planned.

I pause reading for a moment to let out a small sigh. "...Another child?" I can't help but mutter under my breath. The last time Qifrey had written to me about a new apprentice Olruggio had sent an entirely separate letter not even a full day later that simply read: He found another one.

I could still remember laughing so hard I nearly spilled ink over a restricted manuscript. None of his apprentices have ever been planned, always a surprise. I can imagine the shock on Olruggio's face this time considering I knew he was most likely out of town for an assignment when he brought back this new child. I shake my head before continuing to read.

The children would benefit from your added guidance.

And... I would as well.

I know your other duties might make it hard to leave for a short period of time so worry not if now is not a good time.

I then glanced around toward the piles of unfinished research surrounding me, towards the towering shelves, toward the quiet. "I suppose this means I should start packing." I hum out softly, happy to finally see him again.
