The Letter Opener Under the Pillow

For twelve years, Ted waited. Married to the powerful Dominant Enigma Zay, he was never anything more than a convenient spare-eclipsed by Zay's mistress Leah, blamed for every misfortune, and forced to bury the child they lost together, all while hiding a cold, simmering rage behind his calm, unreadable facade.

When Leah's life depends on Ted's tainted blood, Ted prepares his escape: he leaves enough clean blood for Leah, slips past the guards, and almost makes it to freedom-until Zay catches him. But everything shifts when Zay learns Leah wanted Ted dead, and he begs Ted to stay, desperate to fix the ruin he made. Ted says yes, bides his time, and vanishes before dawn can turn his promise real, taking their unborn second child with him.

Twelve years later, a dying Ted walks back into Zay's life, the same letter opener he once hid under his pillow still in his hand. This time, Zay will not let him go-even death cannot part them again.
