Chloe is a walking disaster. Between her chaotic art major, dye-stained fingers, and a messy bun held together by a single paintbrush, she survives on pure caffeine and panic. As a barista at The Daily Grind, the only indie cafe in her sleepy coastal town, she prides herself on never letting a customer rattle her. Then Vesper walks in. Vesper is the local tattoo artist from Ink & Iron. With a pastel-pink buzzcut, facial piercings, and an intimidating "don't mess with me" energy, she is the ultimate grumpy alt-girl. Chloe expects a standard order. Instead, she gets a cryptic request, a literal spark of static electricity that leaves them both shaken, and a sudden, intense curiosity that turns Chloe's face as bright as Vesper's hair. Meanwhile, across town, Chloe's older brother Felix is facing his own radio-wave nightmare. A soft, anxious late-night DJ who hides in oversized sweaters, Felix has just been forced to co-host the morning drive-time show with Jasper. Jasper is loud, fiercely confident, drives a neon-orange Vespa, and lives to make Felix blush. Jammed into a tiny broadcast booth sharing one microphone, Felix is about to find out exactly how loud his heart can beat on live radio. In a town this small, chaos is contagious-and love is about to take over the airwaves.

Valeria didn't rush. She never did. Inez was pinned beneath her, wrist locked overhead, the hold precise and impersonal. Not pain. Control. Inez scoffed anyway. "That's it?" she sneered. "I've had tutors scarier than you." Valeria said nothing. The silence pressed in. "You don't scare me," Inez added, louder. Brattier. "You just-" "Enough." One word. Flat. Final. Valeria lifted Inez's chin with two fingers, detached as a correction. "Look at me," she said coolly. "If you're going to embarrass yourself, do it properly." Inez laughed, brittle. "You think this makes you powerful?" "I don't think," Valeria replied. "I decide." Her gaze never wavered. "You provoke because it's the last control you have." "I don't belong to you," Inez snapped. Valeria leaned in, voice razor-thin. "You are my wife. You belong to consequences." She released her grip. "Say it." "No." Valeria waited. The quiet broke Inez, she hated being ignored. "...I'll behave, I'll be a good girl" Inez muttered. "Specify." Inez swallowed hard. "...I'll be your good girl" Valeria stepped back, already distant. "Good," she said. "Remember why." #1 older women-13th February (FAST PACE BOOK)
