For three years, Ava Hart has observed the man next door. Every evening at exactly 4:17 p.m., he walks into his backyard, sits beneath an old apple tree, and eats a single apple. Every day. Until the day he doesn't. The next morning, a person is found dead. Everyone calls it a coincidence.
