In the aftermath of the Merge, the Merged Realms remain unstable, forcing the ninja into new and dangerous missions across broken worlds.
Kai, the ninja of fire, finds himself caught between two battles: the ones outside, and the ones inside his own mind. After everything he has endured, especially during the Merge and its aftermath, Kai struggles with memories he cannot fully escape and wounds that are not only physical.
When a new threat rises in the form of the Ember King, the ninja are drawn into a dangerous conflict tied to an ancient force known as the First Flame. This power is said to connect deeply to Kai's own element, pulling him into a destiny he never asked for.
At the same time, a separate mission forces the team to search for Ray, Maya, and Skylor, uncovering secrets hidden in the remains of the shattered realms. As the truth slowly comes together, the ninja realize that these events are all connected in ways they never expected.
Guided by Master Wu, the team must fight to protect what remains of their world while also holding each other together as a family.
Because this time, the battle is not only for the fate of the realms.
It is also for Kai's past, his future... and the flame that refuses to die.

Years of becoming someone harder... colder... and far more dangerous than they remember. So when the portal finally reopens and Kai returns, he isn't the same person who was lost. His body is marked with scars, his instincts sharper, his silence heavier. He fights like he has nothing left to lose-because, in his mind, he already lost everything. And worst of all... he doesn't trust them anymore. Because when it mattered most- they left him behind. I promise, I'm fine
LEGO didn't show Kai's trauma after Monstrosity. That's where I come in! I got bored of watching Lego dismiss Kai's trauma all the time. So this fic will show it. (May have huge gaps between upload times but this story will be finished, that I can promise) Everyone thinks of Kai as a selfish person who puts himself before others and many other negative things. As Kai's time as a ninja, he always heard these comments and he couldn't do anything about it so he has to bottle his feelings whenever people say this. One day when he was on a mission with Cole to save some adventurous that got stuck in a narrow cave a disaster struck on Kai. After the mission Cole got all the thanks and Kai got none, Cole was the only one who truly understood what happened. Kai gets sick of how he is being treated and leaves to have a walk to take his mind off of things... but then he meets someone he didn't expect to meet... Timeline not same as the show. It's totally different. --- No one knows what had happened to Kai right after the merge. They mostly just brushed it off as mystery. But occasionally, some of the ninja would ask him what happened, and he would just brush it off as "It's fine." The ninja know it's not fine. Every time Kai got asked that question or if the topic came up, he would just clam up. Wouldn't speak much. Wouldn't answer and change the subject most of the time. And if he did answer, it would just be short and irritated. But Nya senses Kai's hurt. He's traumatised, she thinks. Nya wants to find out. But the truth about Kai comes out sooner than he expected.
