Yẹtúndé became a wife at twenty one, a mother soon after, and somewhere in between those two things, she quietly stopped being herself.

Now forty five, she spends her days inside a blue walled house, cooking for people who no longer live there, watching movies recommended by children too busy to notice she is disappearing.

But loneliness is a strange thing. It does not arrive all at once. It gathers slowly in the body like illness, like memory, like resentment.

Told through the shifting perspective of a child learning that love and sacrifice are not always the same thing, Yẹtúndé is a raw and unsettling story about motherhood, identity, marriage, and the dangerous ways women are taught to survive.
