Noong ako ay tumuntong sa hayskul, napagtanto ko na hindi lahat ng taong makikilala ko ay habangbuhay na mananatili sa tabi ko. Oo, minsan nagtatagal sila ng taon sa buhay ko, ngunit kalaunan ay umaalis rin sila. Noong una, hindi ko iyon maintindihan. Nalugmok pa ako sa lungkot noon at natakot muling kumilala ng mga bagong tao. Ngunit unti-unti kong natutunan na ang mga tao ay dumadaan lamang sa ating buhay. Siguro may mga mananatili, ngunit hindi ganoon ka-present, at hindi natin namamalayan na taon na pala ang lumipas ngunit nariyan pa rin sila. Ngunit mayroon ding mga taong sobrang ikli lamang ng pananatili sa ating buhay. Kaya ko ginawa ang koleksyong ito upang itala ang mga tulang aking isinulat para sa mga taong dumaan, nagbigay-aral sa aking buhay, at nagbigay ng dahilan upang ako'y magpatuloy pa.
