Stinger Azan and nobleman Artemus follow the silent stranger Kaique to the bandit-built town of Onryx. Time cannot pass fast enough for the young Stinger.
This is an original first-person "character-driven" short story written for school, featuring the main characters of my story Stinger, which is set in the same world as Withered Rose. In a later short story submission (that was not at all short), alterations are made to make the (heavily-compressed) timeline work better and Kaique more in character, but this specific version of this scene came first, and so no changes have been made to this one.
